Gravimetric sites

Is it worth it to explore gravimetric sites and then mine them rather than using regular asteroid belts?

Also are higher level minerals like Omber worth more than lower level minerals like PLagioclase?

Yes, you can find some nice ores like kernite and hemorphite in the sites, which are more worthwhile.

I've found arkonor in a .7 grav site before - made about 10 mil in 5 minutes.

grav sites make you less isk then ladar and radar sites...

Is mining gas exactly the same as mining asteroids except with a different laser?

Are there regular gas clouds or do you have to explore for them?

Gas clouds are radar sites if I'm not mistaken. You need the gas harvesting skillbook, which costs around 30m, and each level of it you train you get to use another gas harvester, up to 5. There are barely any gas clouds in hisec, mostly in lo/null sec and WH space. In WH space the gas is used for t3 manufacturing and in lo/null it's used for making drugs.

Depends on your refining skills, usually the ore gets more.

Gravimetric sites are nice in High Sec for materials you normally find in Low sec, but you also have to scan a few of em down that are quite difficult. Though I tend to like Magnetmetric & Radar sites the best.
