Can't launch or install Half Life 2

So last tuesday i decided to play HL2 to get the achievements that i was missing, so after verifying the game files (which my steam seems to do lots of times randomly, is this normal?) the "Steam servers are to busy to handle your request, try again later" message pops up.

I have had this message when trying to play episode 1 and 2 for an unknown reason (contacted someone at valve and he said he couldn't see the problem) but i still managed to fix it by deleting the .gcf files of both episodes.

So naturally, i thought that something similar happened with HL2, so i proceeded to delete all the HL2 files. Everything is going smoothly until the same message appears after it says that the game is downloading and i should go to library/downloads, to see the progress, but the game isn't downloading. (and i have tried for two days)

So, does anyone know what should i do? maybe i missed a file or something.

Edit: tried again to see if i could get more specific and i realized that the message doesn't let me click on finish to start downloading this.

HL2 is still not available on Mac.

Hi, sad thing that this is happening again, and with all the orange box (except for TF2)

I live in mexico and had Los Angeles as the default download region, but with the engie update, changed to japan and back to LA, but since this problem i have been changing regions to see if they work. Im currently in london IIRC.

Nope, still getting the same message if i try to open portal or re install HL2.
