ARMA 1 downloadable missions?

I have to admit, I'm lost in ARMA Land - when I read the websites and look through the mods and all that - I have no idea what's what.
I'm just wondering, since the Editor can be used to make any kind of missions, are there any cool missions out there I could download?
For ARMA 1, that is.
I'd like to have more infantry missions, where I can have a squad and be in control - there doesn't seem to be enough of that in the game itself. Out of the missions I've been able to unlock so far, the squad is all AI and I can't control them.
Also, I'd like to be able to see how other people have created their own missions, hoping it may help me to be able to make my own... if it's even possible to edit an existing mission, that is.

ARMA 1 that is, again - Combat Operations, and I'd appreciate if anyone could let me know where to find more missions, if they even exist.

Should take the silence to mean that there isn't anything out there like what I was hoping?

I think the silence is more about many of us being on Arma 2 and not knowing the answer

There are lots of A1 players, but I think either BIS or some clan forums might be a better bet...

Okay well thanks.
I just assumed that many people around here started with ARMA 1, or the game that came before that, whatever it was called.
And of course there's the likelihood that Dwarden would have an answer, and I was hoping to catch his attention too.

I'll be joining the ranks of ARMA 2 people, but not for a few weeks, but until then I want to get as much out of ARMA 1 as I can.

I don't know any specific mission like this cause I play only MP but you could search Armaholic.
You should find something you like.

It's all out there for you Freeman, sites like http://ofpec.com helped me out tremendously, but it's quite complicated for those of us who haven't been to school to learn this stuff. Yes, you can edit any mission, you just need to decrypt the pbo file, then move the decrypted folder to your user/missions folder. It will take months of reading long tutorials and such before you are able to even scratch the surface of what can be done with the editor. That's how I had to do it, but now I can add voice, lipsyncing, music, scripts, ect. It's really phenomenal. Having someone that's already been studying it for months, to walk you through the stuff will really speed up your learning time, I'm sure. I'm willing to do that for you, or anyone else, just to get the Arma community rolling with unlimited content. From the sounds of the posts here, Arma 2 may still have a lot of kinks to be worked out, so I'm taking my time and enjoying Arma 1 as long as I can, which may be a long time if we get more people pumping out missions for the community.
