How do you install mods properly? Mods have no effect for me
Hello.
I created a folder named 'dropzone' in the installation folder of JC2 and put the contents of the mod for making Rico's signature gun use normal pistol ammo in it, but it seems to have no effect in the game. Is there something else I need to do?

Make sure your folder is named correctly, and that you've unzipped the mod directly into that folder.
The folder should be "Steam/steamapps/common/just cause 2/dropzone". Mods should be installed by dropping the raw files directly into that folder, not a sub folder. Don't put the zip file itself in there, the mod won't work. When you unzip a dropzone mod, you'll see files like "weapons.bin". Those should be in your dropzone folder, without subfolders. |

The mod just had two files
c:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\just cause 2\dropzone\pc_30.arc c:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\just cause 2\dropzone\pc_30.tab There was nothing more in the modzip. No any weapons.bin or anything of that sort. |

Try placing those two folders in c:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\just cause 2\archives_win32 and give that a shot.

for
c:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\just cause 2\dropzone\pc_30.arc c:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\just cause 2\dropzone\pc_30.tab the assumption is that your steam folder is on a win32 system, for x64 I think it is c:\Program Files (x64)\Steam\steamapps\common\just cause 2\dropzone\pc_30.arc c:\Program Files (x64)\Steam\steamapps\common\just cause 2\dropzone\pc_30.tab but you need to find the folder first and unzip directly into it. |

No, those are special mods. They go into your DLC folder, not the dropzone folder, and you must overwrite the exisiting files.
Be sure to make backups of both the originals and the new ones because Steam will regard the modded files as corrupted and replace them if you ever verify the integrity of the game cache. |
