Steam Money Cards

I find my biggest problem in buying games is that I have physical cash, but not enough in PayPal.

After walking around through a Target store, I came up with an idea.

Runescape has these, AdventureQuest has these, hell, even FarmVille has these: cards you can buy at actual stores with digital money on them for the particular game.

It may not be a tremendous idea or an idea that will be used, but I wanted to throw the idea in the air.

I can answer your problem. Pre-paid Visa cards. I use them and they work great.

I thought of this Valve Card as well, someday, they will do it. Gift cards are nothing but profits, why wouldnt they do it if people want to pay for it?

But pre-paid cards cost a fee to activate ($5 or $10 depending on amount and/or company (visa/mc/amex)). Or you can go to Wal-Mart and get one of their reloadable cards but those cost a one time fee of $5. Why not just open a checking account and keep like $100 in there or something?

Prepaid cards. Don't whine about the fees, think about the poor Europeans paying much more for games. And 5 dollars is a small price to pay if you put in a lot of money in the card

There is overhead in regards to this so it's not all profits especially when there are numerous other cards that you can use on Steam already.

I don't get the whole game cards idea in the first. Either you're an adult with a bank account and thus access to check/debit/credit cards or you're a kid in which case why don't your parents let you use their card if you ask? Do your parents hate you that much and don't trust you?

The whole idea of these prepaid game cards if you don't live in some 3rd world country is absurd considering it's the 21st century.

the reason why i wanted to pointed it out was so that i can give as a gift to my friends or family like christmas gift. Usually when i buy a game for gift on steam, it turns out that they dont like the genre or type of the game.

Or go to the bank and get a Visa/Mastercard DEBIT card? It's free.

Because its risky to use debit cards for online purchases, and some people don't like credit cards.

I don't get why people get a bit fussy with people wanting more options to buy their games on Steam. If people want pre-paid Steam cards, then maybe Valve should consider it. Heck, I seen Amazon cards around, so why not?

If you have an idea, why it's not in the suggestions/ideas forum? I'm for it by the way, but I said that in one of the other threads about the same topi.

You do know that if you actually have a brain and don't just throw your credit card up everyone, you are just as likely to get your credit card number stolen from someone taking your mail as you are with someone taking it from the internet...
