mafia 2 demo doesnt work !!

i ve got problem with start this game. when i open the STEAM and want to start this game: there is the tittle : "preparing to launch mafia II- demo" and nothing else... i`ve tried to reinstall all drivers: PhysX, nvidia drivers and directX but it still doesnt run.. have you any ideas for play mafia?? :/

Try the following steps:
- uninstall NVidia PhysX from Windows Add/Remove Program panel
- download and install Drive Sweeper
- launch this program and select "Analyse and clean" in the Home section on the left of the interface
- in the right hand list, check only NVIDIA - PhysX
- Click Analyse button at the bottom. Once the top list has been updated click Clean and confirm you want to clean the entries present in the list.
- Once the clean process is complete, close all application and reboot your computer
- reinstall PhysX using the installer located in Steam\SteamApps\common\mafia ii - public demo\3rd folder.

i have done it but it still doesn`t work...;/
i have got the same problem when i download kane and lynch 2 and it crushed in the same moment...

some body know? ;>

HERE IS SOLUTION

Basicaly, what you have to do is go to the C:\Users\yourAccountUserName\AppData\Local\2K Games\Mafia II\Saves and open file "videoconfig" with notepad and change all 1's to zerros (0's)

So there is resolution and all zerros

That's ALL! :teehee:

i will check it, but i must download mafia first again ;p

This solution, inspite of it being posted so often, does not solve the problem. Installation is incomplete (10) is the error, turning up everytime I want to start the demo. Really sad, since it is on two systems (both win7). When it came out, it used to work though.

I'm having the same problem, i tried uninstalling the physx driver then running driver sweeper and going into "Steam\SteamApps\common\mafia ii - public demo\3rd"
and there was 2 set of physx drivers in there so i installed "PhysX_10.05.12_9.10.0512_SystemSoftware" and i still get the same error message: "incomplete installation of mafia 2 demo (10)"

ok i went to the steam support to see what this error is and this is what they say: "the Incomplete Installation (10) means the Steam servers are busy. Please try again later."

Hi, I'm from Brazil...sorry my english... he he

try to change your Download region on steam

You can do that by going to Settings -> Downloads -> Download region

works for me.Just keep trying different locations

i havent got any files in folder saves...

Did you try to start game?

Anyway, there is my save folder content, just paste it into save folder... I hope it works

You can change in config file monitor resolution, because mine is 1366 768.
