BRINK General FAQ

General FAQ on the upcoming BRINK.

If anything needs to be added or is missing please don't hesitate to PM me.

Ideas for this came from Freyar's multiple FAQ threads. Thanks!

Q. What is BRINK?

Brink is an immersive first-person shooter that blends single-player, co-op, and multiplayer gameplay into one seamless experience, allowing you to develop your character whether playing alone, with your friends, or against others online. You decide the combat role you want to assume in the world of Brink as you fight to save yourself and mankind’s last refuge. Brink offers a compelling mix of dynamic battlefields, extensive customization options, and an innovative control system that will keep you coming back for more.

Brink takes place on the Ark, a man-made floating city that is on the brink of all-out civil war. Originally built as an experimental, self-sufficient and 100% “green” habitat, the reported rapid rise of the Earth’s oceans has forced the Ark to become home to not only the original founders and their descendants but also to thousands of refugees. With tensions between the two groups growing, Security and Resistance forces are locked in a heated battle for control of the Ark. Which side will you choose?

Q. What is the stated release date?

So if I preorderd the game from Amazon.ca I would get the Pyscho pack? I would also be able to activate the game on Steam, right?

And how long does the pre-order bonus go on for? Until the game is released?

I would guess so as they do specifically state them as 'pre-order bonuses'.

You cann what they look like and details from here.

one thing that's confusing is why is this game up for preorder this early? We don't even a release date,no gameplay videos fro the current build, and yet the preorders are up.

I will wait for some time, maybe after a good bunch of gameplay videos and previews(plus a release date) before getting the game.

Although there is no release date per say, the game will be out at the beginning of next year.

I'd rather have the Psycho pack on Steam, that Spec Ops mouth looks too much like a certain hole. But why this crap with different pre-order bonuses? Had enough of that with Mass Effect 2 already.

I have linked in a few gameplay videos. Amazon actually set the date as March 26th 2011 as the shipping date but its probably them assigning a preliminary date.

Pre-ordering a game always has its drawbacks. Lack of reviews is a big one. Still, I've been psyched up for this so long I need to play it.

I kinda have to agree. The Psycho pack is a little cooler. Specially the Grin mask. I dont know how much a soda can can silence a revolver though

I'm buying from Amazon for the pre-order bonus, and the fact that I have a $10 gift card for amazon. I will also be waiting then, until a little more info or a release date.

The boxart for the game on amazon shows "Games for Windows Live" right on the box?
