When I try to connect to a server in the game Team Fortress 2, this error comes up 'STEAM validation rejected'
I have no idea what it means. My VAC status is 'In good standing' so I can't possibly have been banned from steam. I've never seen this before so I'm not sure what to do. If there are other topics for this, then I can't find them because the search function on the forum is broken for me as well. Can someone help please? I found it but those topics are very vague in their helping. Some aren't as fortunate as being good navigators.
I managed to find it through searching but those topics are not the best helpers out there. |

Just wondering, did you try any of them?

I tried one but I haven't yet tested it. Will do so soon though.
Edit: The one I tried does not work. Creating a text file with the name steam_appid and putting the correct number in it does not work. Last edited by Valbrandur: 08-18-2010 at 06:37 PM. |

Here is a topic I just made with methods I found which could fix it, including reinstalling steam.
