Steam wont open

I try to open steam, but wont open, it is on the task manager but wont open anything

You need to Cancel Stream 32 Process in Task manager and then start stream.

This bug come if, you close Stream.

Same issue here. Starting steam loads it up in the task manager with around 20k mem usage - no cpu usage. After that, nothing happens. Have tried reinstalling steam to no success.
Running windows xp sp3. Problem only started with the new tabbed windows update.

Edit: others with same issue, in case a solution is posted in those threads.

Same issue. It loads the "loging in as (name)" but freezes since update.

I've now tried reinstalling steam to no avail.

It's unable to communicate with steam.

The same problem.
I have steam reinstalled then windows
but it doesn't work...

Same thing happened to me, I've been trying to connect all day. Just now it loaded and said "updating steam" but then it just vanished and closed again
