Steam recording software

I have an idea to make steam a little more social by making a recording software so that we can make videos and post them on the community tab. It is actually a pretty interesting idea, and could also be helpful to make videos on youtube (possibly

They have enough trouble moderating text/avatar images, so now you want them to moderate the videos as well? Steam Community isn't youtube/facebook.

I like the idea. It would be great to be able to just hit record without going through all the hassles of setting up Fraps, VirtualDub, DivX, YouTube account, yadda yadda. I've just started trying to do some of this and there are plenty of issues.

Logistics would be the big problem. How could it be done? Could it be done? Video recording takes added processing power. Would it be a server function? And where would it be kept? Personal files? Steam files?

Still it would be so nice if Steam (or anyone) would come out with an easy downloadable recorder that seamlessly integrated with Steam and Valve games. Add that to my Wish List.

I tried looking that up and got bogged down. Also I think some Source games are easier than others. I need it for L4Ds and to post Tube proof of survival times. (btw, tks)

Does WeGame still slow down your system like Fraps does?

Also how is the quality of WeGame?

Usually when I record in FRAPS it's at 720p at 30 fps set in FRAPS

Xfire has this feature already and even lets you broadcast it.
Personally, i don't think it's needed.

There's plenty of programs that already do it.

I did some search and it seems that many website are reporting it at spyware.
