Delete Steam cloud data..... how?

I have had steam cloud turned off for days on steam properties and on my games properties and then deleted my config (which is screwed up) on restarting, Steam cloud undates my config.cfg to the screwed up one and not a default one.

Is there anywhere I can clear all steam cloud data?

Other people also have this issue. I wish I never turned it on.... what poop.

If you turn off Cloud and fire up the game, a default config should be created. Exit out of the game, turn Cloud on and I believe it should sync the new one. I haven't actually had a need to do this, but this is how I understand it to work.

If not, maybe turn Cloud on and start your game with steam://runsafe/AppID

Thanks I'll try the runsafe... turning steam cloud off changed nothing.

Nope deleting the config and running steam://runsafe/240 reinstalls the bad config files.

Also when I make changes they are not saved and it reverts to the bad config next launch.

I guess what I meant was...

Turn Cloud off, delete the config, fire up the game, exit game, turn cloud on. I had assumed it was still deleted.

Which game are we talking about, by the way?

240 CSS, the moment I launch the game it redownloads the dodgy config.

There is no where to delete the cloud settings, they are persistant.

Could somebody else back up there configs, turn off steam clould, delete the configs and confirm that these settings are reinstalled even with the cloud turned off when the game is launched.

I can't remember which is authoritative, or if neither is, but you turned off Steam Cloud in-game as well as under CS:S's properties, right?

I turned off both yes, but the data usage stayed "hence the data"

I just replace the config.cfg with a default one, made it read only. And it to was overwriiten with the cloud settings.

I then, set it to read only and turned on steam clould... steam cloud was not over wriiten with the new settings.

Effectively once steam cloud is turned on, if your settings are bad, you may as well uninstall the game as it is unplayible and will remain that way until support deletes the content for you.

Update: Ok so I uninstalled the game, removed the Valve registery entries deleted my blob files, and restarted steam, made sure that cloud was indeed turned of and launch the game... just to find the same settings.

Ok, so next I am uninstalling steam completely and then trying again.

When you were deleting the config file for Counter-Strike: Source, were you deleting both the config in the Counter-Strike: Source "SteamApps" folder as well as the config for 240 in the "userdata" folder?
