Today's hacking experiences

Since mw2 is now entirely about dealing with hackers, here's my games today:

1) Hacked lobby, infinite ammo. This is kinda fun for a while, especially when you get ac you can machingun the big explosive cannonthngy, blanket the entire map and rack up 100s of kills. Boring after a while though

2) Aimbotter. I get pretty much my entire team to switch to riots and it jaratees him off, he eventually leaves

3) A real game! Laggy as hell though. 5 minutes of play, get disconnected from it at the end though

4) aimbotter, I get the host to leave, next host to leave, then i am host and boot him with mw2sa (btw his IP was 80.218.181.31, swiss IP). Lose host though after one game :-(

5) 2 aimbotters on one team. Again try do the team riotshield thing, 3 of us trying to crawl-attack the aimbotters, but when there are two it's hard.

So, 5 matches, only about 10 minutes of 60 free from hackers. Seems like they've pretty much given up banning them to make us buy blackops?

Sorry to hear that.

In old MW2 news it was done in less than 24hrs
..."It was IW's fault."

The new Headlines are sure to read "Its Treyarch's Fault."

Because VAC dose no wrong.

The well known sites are already in pre Black Ops cheat production.

Suggestion:
Activision/Treyarch should have a Wager Poll/points giveaway on their official web site.

Guess exactly how long it takes for coders to have cheats out for BO to win a rank/a weapon/or extra wager cash.
You know something we honest players can use.

I think there is a lot of BS in this thread. I have not seen more than 20 hackers altogether.

I find it difficult to believe that in a period of 2 hours, I can get in to more hacked lobbies than the total number of hacks you have seen altogether.

Perhaps neither of us are liars.

I agree that the OP seems to be embellishing, but it really is important to remember that your experiences alone does not a representative sample make.

Your chance of running into hackers varies widely depending on the game type you play. I play mainly Domination and in the last week I have seen 1 hacked lobby, and several hackers. These hackers were aimbotters who, during kill cam, had their targeting snapping wildly to various targets. This doesn't take into account potential wallhackers.

I have over 600 hours in MW2. I can probably count about 10-15 hackers I've seen. I have only been in 1 hacked lobby (don't play ground war derp)

Fraid not, that's exactly what happened.

Maybe I'm unlucky in living near lots of hackers, maybe it
s cos i play groundwar, and sure it was an extreme example, but I'm hardly the only one here saying it.

As for hacked lobbies, I've been in maybe 50.

What game type were you playing when this happened?

As for that being exactly what happened, you'll have to forgive the skepticism because it does seem extreme, very extreme. So much so that it makes it nearly unbelievable unless you were playing ground war to get all the hacked lobbies and HC modes to run into all the hackers.

Well there you go. Groundwar, from almost day one, has been the hacker's playground.

No one will ever take any claims of hackers and hacked lobbies seriously if they pertain to that game type.

I'm in the same boat. Went to go play this morning & was confronted with hackers on 2 diff servers.

On the first server the guy was primarily aimbotting via helicopter. It was ridiculous. Think his score was 45/0. It was obvious he was instantly locking onto people.

The next server i got on there was a set of hackers doing the usual crap.

Yesterday & semi frequently i keep getting forced into a modified host. Annoying PITA.

I gave up and just played some classic DoD.

you cant see anyones IP if you got picked as a host during host migration

This is fake and gay.

Ah ha! I was right to call bs.

Reason I don't see hackers to all you who think I am lying: I play HC Mosh Pit, Team Tactical, and some Domination. I am in the southern US.

You are right, but it doesn't exactly nullify his statements. It could be that the game ended, the hacker left, then rejoined. Or, he ran netstat and narrowed the IP down. Or he is wrong about the IP address. At minimum it means, like just about every "I Saw a Hacker" thread in this forum, embellishment was used to make things more dramatic. It doesn't mean he didn't see a hacker and it doesn't mean that they are not infuriating.

Even one un-delt-with hacker is really annoying to me because in a game where there is NO reliable metric for skill (XP is worthless, challenge numbers stop accumulating when you complete them and reset when you prestige, etc.), my pride and joy is my W:L and my win-streak. I was on a 33 game win-streak that was stopped by an unabashed hacker. If I left, the streak was over so I had to sit there and at least try and fight, but I had no chance.

tl;dr: Even one hacker can ruin something that you have been working towards for days.

One little lie is enough for me to question every single one of his statements. It is human nature. Trust is easily lost and is difficult to regain.
