Remove the "white-out"?
Playing this game in the dark is all well and good but when the white-out happens during flashbacks etc it hurts my eyes. I've had a look in the configs and haven't yet found a way to change the colour of the white-outs to...er, black-outs. Is this possible?

I don't think so...I'd recommend just having a very small light somewhere near you, so it doesn't bother you as much.

Have the same problem. And having a light somewhere near you ruins the immersion and horror experience
.. Playing this in darkness (like it's supposed to be played), and the game is generally dark - then the "white-out" is like getting a flashbang in your face!

Agreed.
The white-outs break the mood and are annoying when your eyes are accustomed to the darkness. |
