Hi everyone. :-) First, my system is well capable of running Outrun, I can run rFactor, NFS-Shift, Dirt2, GP4, Race On, blah blah.
I have an ATI9600 512MB. I have set the card to application decides for AA and all the other stuff it can do. OS is Win XP Pro. The game starts up fine, however when I want to config my G25, the accell, brake and steering is unassigned. The problem is the choices keep moving on the screen and it makes a sound as the menu flips through each choice, it refuses to hold on any menu choice. If I jag it by timing the enter key, it will hold, I can set the accelerator assignment, but the menu is frozen and I cannot make the choice or use esc to select another choice for controller assignment. I have to use the Task Manager to kill the application. I can run the game via the keyboard, but when I have a simulator with a wheel, like WTF! Does anyone have any clue on why this is happening? TIA guys. :-) |

Have you got a gamepad plugged in or a controler of any kind? If so try taking it out and seeing if thats interfearing.

That's a bit strange, I want to configure the controller so removing it is not exactly fixing the problem. :-)

I downloaded another no_cd exe, and after much button pushing, swearing and cursing, and general faffing about with it, I've managed to stop the menu from jumping and get the controller configured. Hopefully never again. Thosde problems aside, it's good fun, and having the girlfriend smack me about after the race for crap driving is hilarious! Comedy Gold lol!

- ATI 9600? That's an average 8 years old vga (there was 9700 and 9800 as top).
- Most cards had 64 or 128Mb RAM (9700 and 9800 had 128) at that time, almost none except rare customs had 256Mb. - ATI9600 is an R300 chip, that only support Shader Model 2. - Games like Dirt2 or NFS Shift require Shader Model 3 to run, an ATI9600 can't run those games. meh |

Sorry, my mistake there, it's an NVidia 9600GT Low Profile card. Not an ATI at all. I have two ATI's in another comp, probably that's where I got that from. ;-)
