Old man with his stupid order
Asks for metal items. I give him a statue made out of gold, and a silver helmet. He says 'That's not what I'm looking for!". Last time I checked, having degrees in chemistry and all, gold and silver are metals... -.-
(Edit - he also just refused a silver helm + silver armour...) Also annoying little girl with little money, but gladly pays for foodstuff orders over 8k. Selling stuff at 110% (in general) has led to merchant lvl 15 by the start of the third week (after the 30k payment) with 30k spare. It helped a lot when I realised in the market and the guild you could scroll left and right for more items

It's because gold/silver/platinum/etc fall under the "precious" category rather than metal. I agree, it's kind of annoying.

1. Gold/Silver is categorized under "precious metal". What he's asking for is non-precious metal such as iron or steel.
2. It's a percentage thing, little girls has a starting target pricing of around 105~110%. Keep around cheap stuffs to sell to little girls if you care about margin. |

EDIT: Oh, I see. Well that is kind of annoying, maybe a change to "common metal" would be appropriate.
Otherwise it feels like a bug? Last edited by Marut: 09-12-2010 at 02:16 PM. Reason: Discovered Cause for Issue |

Changed my strategy now with the girl. If she's first in a chain, I'll offer the standard 110%. If she's third in the chain or above, I just offer at 100% to keep the chain going.

So what counts as common metal? Like, Steel Swords? Worn Swords? Things like that?

Probably anything that looks like it is made out of iron, steel; think stereotypical metals, so yeah, I would expect so.

Sight is actually bad too. There's a lot of stuff that looks metal that'll just get you the finger.
It's mostly just trial and error. Oh, and read the descriptions, sometimes that'll give it away. |

People keep talking about the little girls, but by the end of my first run I was having much more trouble with the housewives. They would ask for items they couldn't afford, haggle ruthlessly (even on red items), and walk from deals, including many that the girls were accepting around the same time. They also loved to bring in red items that were lower grade than what I was already trying to move; no, I don't want to pay 300P for that apple when I already have two dozen other sweets that are worth five times as much.
