Which weapon has the best ironsights? And the worse?

I would say the XM8 prototype got the best ones.

The worst is the ones from the M16 and PKM LMG.

What's your opinions?

So far, I love the XMG LMG's iron sights, which I assume are the same for the other XM8 variants in the game. I guess if you count the MG36's integrated red dot scope, then it's the best, hands down.

I'm not too fond of the M60. Very bulky and awkward sights.

All of the XM8 series have great iron sights. The AN-94 and UMP have garbage iron sights. I used the 4x optic on the AN-94. Since I play engineer to kill vehicles, I endured the UMP's iron sights to platinum.

Yeah, the M60 has a pretty bad set of iron sights. But I play medic to heal/revive, so I don't use optics or magnum with LMGs.

The M16's sights aren't too bad, but I used the 4x optic most of the time with assault rifles. 4x + magnum helped me kill people in more situations with ARs, so that was my standard kit most of the time. I got at least the first gold star with each weapon using iron sights, though. I wanted to be able to use any weapon with any sight, iron/RDS/4x. That way if I ever needed to pick up another weapon, or got revived with anything, I could still make it work.

You can admit that you use the M60, man. Pretty much anyone at higher ranks has used it to platinum. Same with the AN-94.

Completionists like myself go for plat with everything. The difference is that some people ONLY use the OP weapons. I saw one guy who had >30,000 kills. 5K with the CG, 10k with the AN-94, 20k with the M60. Almost all of the rest were with vehicles. It seems to me like it would make the game boring to always use the same weapons in easy mode like that...

I never use optics as it's a total waste of a slot. The best sites are probably xm8 weapons and the worse are a real toss up as there are a lot of bad ones. Also M60 sites are fine.

I think all the iron sight are great in this game. If you think any of them are crappy then you are just a ♥♥♥♥ty player.

M93 for worst... cause you shouldn't bother heh.

@overt, 4x is good with m16/AEK since they have no decay.

I like the open style iron sights, where theres nothing encircling the target, much easier to spot targets and aim for me in every game. If the gun doesn't have open iron sights I have to use a scope otherwise I cant aim for crap.

AEK, XM8P & LMG, PKM, and the G3 have the best iron sights in my opinion.

No love for Engi SMG iron sights in this thread? All of the weapons already mentioned have good sights, yes, but Engi guns in general are awesome IMO. It's just a waste to use a red dot/4x on them (I swear I use sprint, not RAWKETS :P)

XM8 Prototype and LMG IMO. The sight is somewhat restrictive compared to, for instance, the M416, but I find it's also far more accurate because it's smaller.

I used to swear my iron sights for every class, but lately I've found myself using the ACOG scopes on ARs. I still use iron sights on engineer or medic (because my job is not to be engaging long-range targets, but rather to be supporting my team which should consist of some assaults that can do that).

Indeed, but the M1 Garand actually has a very good one with the same damage and recoil. You trade off 2 rounds in your clip for that.
