[SUGGESTION] Seeing other clientsettings as spec

A cool feature to have would be to see some of the other clientsettings when you're spectating someone 1st person:
Whether right hand or left hand + the same crosshair as the person you're spectating.
Some other games have this feature and I always thought it was nice to see really 1:1 the same POV settings as the other player.

Sure, not really important to implement, but I thought I'd just bring that up.

I would be for it, change everything to what his setts are and once youre playing yourself use your own, allthough this could put further stress on your internet and server

Not that much, it could be sent just once to the server by the player (and also if he changes one of the crosshair cvars via console ingame) and then be received once by every player. This wouldn't be a lot of information that has to be sent/received. The server also doesn't have to check this all the time if it's correct for every player, it's just a little visual feature so nothing that important which needs a lot of ressources from the server.

Maybe it would be a problem for those players who have a "flashing" crosshair, which changes its color on every move. But those are very few players and you could solve it by sending the crosshair information only once every round or every minute or something.

I dont have have a flashy crosshair but both my extra mousebuttons are binds for a crosshaircolorswitch red/lightblue and the other one for a handswitch.
I press them often after eachother since it make me focus on my aim better.

I don't know how much this would stress the server/client, that would be up to the devs I think. I don't actually think it would be that much, considering how much other information is already sent/received, so maybe even a flashing crosshair would be possible. But if it's not, it could be reduced like I said, still this thread is more generally about this idea and if more people would like to have that in the game.

well it would only really add 2bit of network traffic, which is really really not much, but the server needs to process it and I dont know how well it would be handled.

It's probably more than 2 bit, because it's more than just 1 single crosshair command
But I don't think the server performance is the problem, it won't be increased by such a minimal change, I think the traffic would be the "bigger" problem, although I think even this is a minor increase.

well scale is different on every res so that wouldnt really make sense to display it, allthough maybe with the new options it is consistent across resolutions

I don't actually see a reason why you'd want to disable that.

Yup, it should be consistent now across resolutions (although there are some bugs left, like the gap between the lines which differs from res to res). That's one reason why I suggested it now
