How get companion cube piece?

How get "Piece of Cake", "The Whole Cake" and "With a Little Cherry on Top" achievments?

Is it related with new, "Still Alive" level?

From what I know this level and 3 new achievments are available only in PC version.

You need to get a 17x combo in the Still Alive stage I believe.
Never got it myself but I read it somewhere.

Painseeker is correct. To add a little more to it though:

- The game doesn't really track it (visually, I mean), but every Cube you place counts. It doesn't need to be cleared, just placed.

- You can do it multiple times per level, you just have to let the multiplier reset. This can be faster to grind the 100 in the sense that you can get set-up while you wait for a block to be cleared and drop a few quick quads right away after the reset, rather than restarting and having a clean board.

- It doesn't really take as long as you might think to get 100 of them. Depending on how fast you are, you could easily have this done within a couple hours.

- If it helps to spread-out the grind a little, just do a few per night, you'll have it within a couple months.

Just got The Whole Cake tonight, myself. Gonna grind-out With a Cherry on Top over the next few nights, perhaps.

No, there is no 'Visual' counter. The game does track your progress, but you won't know it til you get it.

Once you get the achievement, you'll then know how many you got. lol

"With a Little Cherry on Top" tooks up to 3 days and It's not too hard.

Looks like the game isn't counting my companion cubes.
I've written down a list, so I don't loose counts.
I was able to get 51 companion cubes and I placed them on the game field. But I didn't get the "Piece of Cake" achievement.
Any suggestions?

I think it's based on "City 17", from Half-Life.

Yes, he meant the multiplier. Every new quad you start adds one to the multiplier. So to get the Piece you basically need to create 17 quads, and then the next piece you get will be a 3x3 block to place (which, of course, instantly turns into a quad).

I got the 100 cubes achievement by starting in Time mode 3 minutes, rushing to the cube, placing it and exiting the level and entering again... a hundred times, takes about 3 hours if you aren't too slow. You get the achievement as soon as you place the 100th cube.
