A Ford Fiesta in F1 shape with false speedometer

...

So I got home after work tonight, finally,... it's sept. 23rd...

so...

I started steam.. and hit play f1 2010... decrypting all fine...

so after getting in the game I first got this "not fullscreenbug" but I already read here in the forum alt+ return.. yes it work..

So after that.. I began to realise that the first part of the game is to make all this windows live things... finally I past that level

so then in the game.. a bit of bla bla from an option in form of a woman.. choose name bla and that stuff.. after that the next option menu bla blas to me in form of a woman with accent...

ok however that's since racedrive it's that style and it's also kind of nice to have an athmosphere...

soo however
I have to say..
usually I race rFactor F1 if I want to race F1 or if not F1 then I race GTR2...

ofcourse I knew this game won't be a sim in full way.. but I thought maybe it has a little bit of sim character or at least good grafics and fun gameplay and nice feeling of car (I mean head shaking and so on, don't mean the real physic feeling)

so however I get in the car... get on the throttle and....

öäähmm is that all ?? I am sitting in an F1 car ?! ... checked if no pitlimiter is on.. ohh 260 kmh ??? öhm feels more like 50..

My Ford Fiesta feels alot faster then this cars lol..

and also my head shakes more in my fiesta.. even when I drive smoothly lol..

well it seems this game is more a game that should cover the offside the track storys then the racefeeling itself...

I mean even if it should also be playable for "normal player" not only sim player...
it is still F1 and F1 is realy realy fast... but here? Even the accelaration of the car.. a real F1 car is a bit faster at 200kmh....

I still have the feeling I did something wrong like pitlimiter or such things (but hey if a pitlimiter would be in there wouldnt be 280 on the speedometer lol)

Also I get this thing that it is a bit too low in fps... but I read also here in the forums that if you pre downloaded it that could be and you should to try to delete the local files and to reinstall it... even that was a next level.. when I wantet to delete local files over steam nothing happened.. after some tries I did that manually and then finally steam also could delete the last stuff...
now downloading it again and so on...

I will give it a second chance..
even if it feels slow like sitting in a crapy 58 ps car...
maybe it has some other nice things... I mean the weather effects and so on looking realy nice in the videos... maybe at least there is some fun...

however while it is redownloading the game...

I will get back into a "real" F1 car.. getting back to rFactor now..
even if F1 2010 feels like super slowmow after that... maybe I should drive a kart mod at barcelony GP or so to get the same feeling lol..

If someone like that game, I am happy for you,
and like I said I give it a second try.. something has to be good there... even if it's not the speed and racefeeling... but maybe it's some fun to give interviews or something like that..

Drive safe....but not too slow.

Many people are having the same problems in the cockpit. The feeling of speed doubles for me when in T-Cam view. In the cockpit, even the wheels are rotating slowly.

It's going to take a little while for the Dev's to optimize the game. Hoping to see a patch pretty soon. For now, I'm going to use the modded T-Cam files over at the Codies forum.

I use the T-Cam view as well, but I agree in some ways with the OP. The game certainly fell way short for me. Graphics are very dull and nothing stands out. Dirt 2 and NFS:Shift are MUCH better looking games. The EGO engine was great when introduced and aged pretty well, until now where it's REALLY showing it's age. I don't know why, but visually, everything about F1 2010 is worse than Dirt 2.

I know graphics dont equal game play, but in this case, graphics do count for a lot. The better the visuals, the more realistic it feel and realizm quals fun. When I'm driving or i'm behind a McLaren or Ferrari, I want to see that deep glossy silver/red on the vehicle. I want to see detailed reflections and the sun shining off of it, just like I do when I'm watching a race on TV. This game provides none of that.
