Well, It can't be something to do with marketing to get more sales, because they removed the pre order on the store and put it back to £30, so not as many people would buy it now, and there are no other advantages that steam would get by releasing it this late, so it wouldn't have been released late on purpose.

WTF i cannot beleive the game is not unlocked yet i justr woke up got a cold this takes the biscuit ...... i also checked on codemasters forums and it seems the codemasters team is looking into why steam hasnt unlocked the pre order customers also

I'd appreciate some more communication between codemasters and those waiting. A twitter update saying still waiting on steam or an eta of a response would go a long way.

My respect for steam has plummeted alot....

the part that ticks me off the most is that the pre order cust have paid for a title to be played at time of release and that steam will more than likly not even provide an apologie or any form of compensation for there lack of ..................

I am about to explode! I have spent literally all morning (3hrs) driving around to every game shop and supermarket in Northampton and surrounding towns trying to buy this game for PC, only to find out that it is not even released as physical media... That really annoyed me. So reluctantly I logon to steam to buy it and now it's saying it is locked. If it's not unlocked in the next hour, I'm calling Visa to cancel the transaction! Absolutely amature...mistake or not, a company as big as Steam should not be screwing up such a big release and somebody's head should role for this. release date has been set for many months, and they still screw it up....bravo.

/this is my very first Steam purchase too....and my last
