CIV 5 Intro video.

For anyone intersted, if you're like me and are tired of seeing the intro video over and over, and are tired of having to kill it each time, you can just delete the WMV file and the game will run normally without the intro video. The WMV files to delete are here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v

Your path may differ.

Could you give more details? I've been always concerned about it, Thanks very much! Have you got the answer? It's very long now.

Renaming this file should give the same result, with the added option of being able to have the video back (just in case).

There is a better option ya know.

Just go into My Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 5.

Open 'UserSettings.ini' in Notepad.

And change 'SkipIntroVideo = 0' to 'SkipIntroVideo = 1'.

And you're done, if you delete or rename the WMV videos Steam is most likely to download them again if you verify the game cache.

If you're a Mac user, the path is as follows:

/Users/{yourusername}/Documents/Aspyr/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/UserSettings.ini

Thanks for this.
I too, was getting annoyed with the intro video, particularly as I couldn't seem to stop it for around 30 seconds.

Intro is a hidden loading screen. Rather than seeing a bar filling up or a please wait message, developers throw you the intro and if you press escape right away, it skips it as soon as loading finishes.

This is like long elevator rides in Mass Effect.
