How to hide my hours played on profile?

Here's something that's always annoyed me... folks being able to see how many hours I've played my games...

It's a good way to remind me whenever I'm going overboard and not get addicted, but at the same time, I don't want my friends (since I've made the profile private) to be able to see how many hours I've wasted on... say, nancy drew lol

Moreover, I always get annoyed at the thought of friends-girlfriend-family-colleagues who happen to know me on steam being able to see how many hours I've wasted playing football manager instead of studying/working/spending time with her

it stinks that ur entire profile is only changable from private, to friend only and public. There's no wai between if i don't want ppl to see my friendlist or hours I played the only way to do is, is set my profile to private. How poor D:

You could always say that you have a nasty habit of leaving your computer on.

Yeah, the best excuse is just to say you Alt-Tab out a lot to do other stuff, and forget the game for hours.
