"Missing map maps/<mapname>.bsp, disconnecting" in TF2
NOT the "Could not CRC map" error.
I noticed this last week, before the Polycount update. I am unable to join servers with custom maps that I don't already have. I have to copy them over from my Windows partition to play. I have both of today's updates but it didn't fix anything. 10.6.4 MacBookPro5,1 |

Still getting this issue. It starts downloading from the server, but right as it finishes the disconnect message pops up.

Any chance you could get a packet capture of the map download?

What's the size of the map file that was downloaded?
I'm guessing this is another instance of TF2 on OS X not playing nicely with sv_downloadurl. |

Download the map manually from fpsbanana and then place it in your maps folder.

The missing map message pretty much replaced the Could not CRC map error. I'm pretty sure they're the same thing, although since they both have the same result it really doesn't matter now does it? :P
At least half the custom maps I encounter don't download, but quite a few of them do. Of course, I haven't quite reached the point where I hate the stock maps yet. :P Besides, all the really interesting custom maps are only being played by 2 people at a time ![]() I always just Google the map name. No specific map site. Just Google the entire map name. You don't even have to quit TF2 thanks to Command+Tab :P |

RAR isn't the issue at all.

when I attempt to download a few custom maps, most of them are contained within rar files or what have you, and when I double click it to try and open it like I would a zip, it basically says that I dont have a program to open rar files or that file type is unrecognizable or what have you.
So it kind of IS a problem. Then again im not very computer savvy. Edit: nevermind. I figured out a way to use Bzip2 like you said in order to download the links proper! Last edited by Retribution892: 09-01-2011 at 04:57 AM. |
