Confirmed fix for missing sounds on Raxus Prime and Death Star

FIX NOW CONFIRMED TO WORK

These files might will fix the problem with missing sounds on Imperial Raxus Prime and the Death Star levels.

Download the file here: http://www.filefactory.com/file/3nnh...Fixed_Files.7z *
Decompress with 7-Zip.
Copy these files into folder: \Steam\steamapps\common\star wars the force unleashed\LevelPacks\
These should overwrite files that are already in there.

Full discussion about how the fix was found, where these files come from, etc. in this thread: http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=1447812

---

Note: This is not a fix for the problem where music only comes from the front left speaker on 5.1 setups. That is a separate issue that affects all versions of the game and has no user-level solution apart from changing your Windows or sound card speaker settings to Stereo. It seems that Aspyr support (incompetent as always) is erroneously linking people to this thread for the 5.1 problem. Direct those fools to this comment if they send you here.

---

*Pretty much all free file hosting services will delete a file after 90 days of non-use. If the link is dead by the time you read this sorry, but not many people are playing Force Unleashed anymore and keeping the file alive.

The link above was freshly uploaded on 3/23/13, but I don't check Steam forums very often anymore, so I can't promise I'll re-upload again after that one dies. If there's anyone out there who can handle more permanent hosting duties, future Force Unleashed buyers will certainly thank you.

Never heard of people having problems with that level before. I'm not sure that would be the same type of problem. Imperial Raxus Prime and the Death Star are the ones where most people have trouble.

Am downloading now. Never had this problem on my first two playthroughs, but its there BAD on Raxus Prime 2 this time, so I am going to give this a try.
I will edit my post to say whether or not it works when I am done.
Btw, can I open the file with winzip or winrar? I dont have 7zip, and dont intend to download it just for this buggy game.

The file is in 7z format which was created for 7-Zip, but I believe newer versions of WinZip will handle that. However, 7-Zip is a free, open source program that can handle zip, rar and a variety of other compressed formats. So you don't need WinZip or WinRar (and there no annoying registration reminders, etc) if you have 7-Zip. It's less than 1MB to download, so I would recommend it regardless (and recommend getting rid of WinZip and WinRar).

I have no sound (only have the steam version) on the first level call tie factory (after the video, the ingame intro have no sound at all and during the first level only have the light saber sound, exactly like the raxus 2 and death star level.

I always thought it was the port's fault. Never thought Steam would have bad level files.

Thank you very much for the fix!

This is great to hear! I actually quit playing during one of the last levels because the lack of so many sounds was just really sapping a lot of the fun out of it. I don't think this was ever fixed Steam-side, but regardless you really did a fine job here.
