Forget about Planet Offer, it won't be back.
About preorder, you can preorder it from a website since yesterday, but for buying it in steam I guess you'll have to wait until 14th. |

Possible?

No, you'll get a 50% discount whether your copy is Limited Edition or Standard Edition. Also I'm not sure about the discount if you buy the newer version (Cities XL 2011) within steam. Hope steam will handle that...
It appears that the discount is applied only if you buy the new CXL2011 from the official site, let's hope this is wrong... Last edited by Grunwaldt: 10-08-2010 at 09:28 AM. Reason: bad spelling |

Steam aren't getting the discount. You get th discount if you BOUGHT the game from steam, but it won't be on offer. Here's a copy of the email i got regarding the discount:

Ironically if you're in the UK it isn't even their store it takes you to, it's the Metaboli store lol |

I've just received that email from FHI too, but, wait, they told you the game won't be ready on steam by the official release date?

I had an email from them saying it wont be released on steam yet. Also there is no steam store page for the game yet either.
What the chap told me was that the only way to get the game at the discount was through the official store as you have to go through a portal site in which you have to verify you Cities XL cdkey by entering it. Apparently they can't do this for steam for some reason. It will be released on steam, just not on the day of release which is in a few days, but he didn't say when it would be on steam. I'm guessing there was some issue with setting up for steam release beyond the discount. |

Stalker had (and still has) a loyalty check to see if you own it, so we know its possible to do specific discounts on Steam. Naturally, it would have to be a Steam version.

I think it's pretty disappointing that people who own the original on Steam won't be able to get the discount for the new version on Steam. I guess I'll have to pass on it.
