Question Has the DRM Dissapeared?

I remember a long time ago considering buying one of the X games, and immediately stopped when I saw that the game had additional third-party DRM. It was a large disclaimer on the right-hand side of the 'Store' page.

Now, this deal/sale/package has hit, and I've checked all the component 'Store' pages, and none of them mention anything about third party DRM.

Is the DRM truly gone, or have they simply removed those disclaimers from the 'Store' page?

Egosoft has been good about removing DRM about a year after each release.

What about on the retail version of the X3 games? Do they still retain the DRM or does patching them to current version remove the DRM?

Patching removes it from disk versions.

Also, the "Superbox" has no DRM for any game version contained in the set.

Thanks. Been thinking about picking up X3 Gold retail but have been putting it off since I have other games I need to complete/play more of.

You could try buying the X Superbox as that has the complete set of games. All updated to work on Windows 7 too.
