This is just a small idea, but I thought it was worth saying. I think it would be beneficial to be able add a new "tab" on the Steam chat window. From there you could invite a friend or friends to the new chat tab. This would make talking to new people separately a little more convenient. Instead of going to view friends and starting a new chat with someone (that ultimately ends up in a new tab), you would be able to do that easily from the chat window.
Just a thought |

The suggestion is to be able to create a new tab from that window -___- like an internet browser.

theres a simple solution to what you wanna do, just invite other people to the chat. Right next to the start voice chat option, theres a invite to chat option.

What he wants is a "New Tab" button, similar to that found in Firefox, Chrome, even IE. |

I don't understand how this would be any better than browsing your friends list, and double clicking the person you want to chat with. If you would open a new tab, you would have to go through a list anyway to invite a friend.

Maybe if you add a text box to enter the partial name of whoever you want to talk to. This would fill in the missing "address bar" slot that makes the New Tab button feasible in web browsers.
