why am i getting an Error Code 51?

i was playing the game fine this morning, saved and quit and now when i try and play i get a Failed to Launch (Error Code 51) popup message each time


wtf?

edit - my machine literally, in the 1 hour i quit to have some food, hasnt changed at all. no drivers, no nothing.
ive verified game cache.. did squat.
i have no antivirus at all on this machine. no firewall either.

i have the same Problem
(Windows 7 64bit Ultimate, i7, 5770, Drivers and Windows uptodate)

Ever i start the Game from Steam, i get:

EVER i let Steam verify the Cache, i get the message that it has no access to a File and download it .... but EVER Verify show this message.

I give Steam Admin-Rights, i deactivate ThreadFire, deactivate the most of F-Secure ..... ever the same.
A new installation change noting .....

Has anyone an new idea .... or a solution ???

I think the installation of the game has not came to the end ..... but why ?????

The problem is related to F-Secure antivirus. Goint into F-Secure Settings->Computer->Deep Guard and turning off "Use advanced process monitoring" solves the problem and the game can run.

It looks like the heuristic methods in F-Secure believe Fallout is acting like a virus. Heuristic methods try to detect viruses by looking at what the software is doing, rather than scanning for known virus signatures. Disabling that feature should not mean too much of a security risk, since the regular virus scanning methods are still active.

Hopefully, F-Secure will get this fixed within a day or so, provided someone tells them about the problem. I tried, but their feedback page was bugged so it was impossible to send the message...
