Does the emulator have a snapshot/save anywhere function?

I suck at old school platformers. Do these games have a save-anywhere function through the provided emulator?

Also, will they run on a 1.3 GHz core 2 duo with an integrated Intel card?

Yes on both questions... although the save anywhere feature requres going to the ESC menu. There is no hotkey saving.

Correction.. I checked and it looks like it does have a quicksave key. I guess I never noticed because I always use a gamepad.

Yup, it does have a quicksave, it'd be nice if they let you map it to a gamepad button for easy access though.
