About 90% of today's games have it, sadly.

No avoiding it, so anymore it's more shocking to not see it than it is to see it.

On the contrary. Securom games are exceptions today. The only publishers that still use it are eastern european based or console-focused ones. Most others have dropped it on games sold through Steam.

Did you copy the key to clipboard and paste it upon install?

Angry

I was checking this game out and getting my credit card ready when I saw this red flag jump out at me "3rd-party DRM: SecuROM™ 5 machine activation limit" and said "No thanks!".

I do not buy any game that imposes install limits. There are many great games that do not use these annoyance-inducing-mechanisms and I will save my money for those developers & publishers. For games purchased on Steam Steams DRM should be enough.

two solutions:

1)
On windows 7 64b

- Open notepad (or Notepad++)
- Copy/paste (just check the file path, if you don't have 64b edition):

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\divinity ii - dragon knight saga\bin\Divinity2.exe" /revoke

- Save as Revoke_steam.bat
- run as Administrator

2)
OR but slower : check file integrity in steam (menu of the game)

Nice day

I was about to buy this game, but quickly bailed out when I noticed the securom DRM.

I recently had a bad experiance with it, bought Arcania on Steam and securom broke, was basically locked out of my legal game for 2 weeks... not again!

You can revoke the activation upon uninstall, but SecuROM files will remain in your system and are not easily removed.
