when it is in all (VAC)games you probably had a modded lobby in MW2 and used a bad tool.

Anything that modifies the exe in MP is a cheat to VAC. Even if you know nothing about it. VAC bans by engine. VAC bans are not immediate and the behavior that caused your ban could have happened 2-3-4 weeks ago. Did your account get hacked say last month? You should still be able to play on non VAC servers if there are any and SP is uneffected but they won't unban you. You will have to buy a new copy to play MP again.

Sounds like you where VAC banned from a game. Being VAC banned doesn't ban you from playing EVERY game, just a lot, for example:
Lets say I get VAAC banned rom Counter Strike Source. I can no longer: Play on VAC secure servers of games using the same engine as CSS (DoD,TF2,Gmod,ect) But I can still: Play on VAC-unsecure servers Play singleplayer Make a new account and buy the game again VAC only bans by engine, not by....everything. If you where banned from MW2, you can't play it anymore, but you can still play CSS/L4D/TF2/ect. You can also still play other games, like Empire Total war, because they are unrelated to VAC. |

Actually, there is a tool for MW2 that can get you banned on other engines too, since it interferes in how VAC works.

Contact support and they can see if your ban was legitimate or not.
https://support.steampowered.com/ Chances are you used a program to bypass VAC which is a big no-no and gets you banned from every VAC protected game, even Valve single-player games. |

![]() ----------- On another note: VAC uses delayed bans, so you could have cheated/used a "tool" a couple months ago, and only being banned for it now. |

EDIT: Providing what you said is accurate, of course. I find it hard to believe. Last edited by mouton: 11-16-2010 at 04:54 PM. |

Because there are games on Steam that don't require VAC.

It is hard to believe since you don't lose access to any game if you are VAC banned. Only the access to VAC protected multiplayer servers. Something that really doesn't matter with Singleplayer games.

I know, I know, but he said it if you really mess with VAC then it can get you banned even from Valve singleplayer games. That would be the first I hear about that and hence my surprise and disbelief.
