Bought the game yesterday, still can't play

I purchased the game on Steam and did the registration, yet somehow I cannot get past the initial loading screen. The progress bar makes it to just about perpendicular with the "light smear" gleaming from the Galcon Fusion logo, and hangs. The music also begins about this point, but the bar progresses no further. I tried restarting steam, reinstalling the game, and about every other option I could think of within the Steam client, but I cannot seem to get the game to load. I am running Vista 32 Home Premium on a 2.6 ghz machine with a Radeon x1950 pro. The game is in fullscreen mode (not sure if there's an option for windowed mode or any other options really before the actual title screen). I've seen that Phil has been very helpful on this forum, which is awesome. Any and all help is appreciated from anyone who has ideas though, cause I wanna play!

So I walked away today at the loading screen and came back fifteen minutes later. I had a black screen with a black arrow. I clicked the screen and up came the main menu! I clicked on the "options" button and was taken back to the load screen with the progress bar still at it's frozen spot. I waited about five minutes and shut it down via task manager because I'm actually doing work, just though I'd give it a run during my break. Something to note is that in Task Manager it does say that it is "Not Responding", as well, when tasking out of Galcon Fusion (when it lets me) the program automatically quits. So, still looking for replies, but I'm still working on it as well.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the support I've gotten in this thread. With the contributed tips, suggestions, similar stories, and just genuine love you've all shared, I feel as though we've become a family. Never have I visited a page with such complete atmosphere of activity and inspiration. Problem is, I still can't play, so keep those thoughts pouring in! Thanks again.

Hi,

My apologies for being worthless!

My best suggestions are:

Download it direct from www.galcon.com/fusion/download.php - sometimes the non-Steam version works better on some computers.

Make sure you have the latest OpenGL drivers for your system.
