The application is listed as "vpk". Are you sure you're in the right bin folder? Because there's more than one. Make sure you're looking in, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\bin

Okay, so what do I do with it? I've tried opening it and it just flashes a DOS window for half a second, and I've tried copying the program over to my Mutations folder and it has some dll error.

I wouldn't have either until I tried dragging the folder into the bin area and accidentally dropped it right on top of the vpk.exe

in the console, type:

map mapname mutationname

so if you wanted to play it (lets say you named it testmutation1) on dead center, in console, type

map c1m1_hotel testmutation1

Exactly what SuperNerd000 said, just make sure you don't have any other Mutation VPK's in your addons folder when you test yours.

Great tutorial, I used to just replace the official scripts to run my scripts, but with this i can do it much easier.

I'm now releasing a mutation pack of mine, and i'll give you credit for helping me out

I know there's a least the one that lets you alter reserve ammo:

ammo_weaponname_max #

You are a hero to us. Thanks a ton for this. And congrats on getting one of you own mutations into L4D2 next week. Can you tell us which one it will be or probably be?
