Anyone here ever tried connecting a 24" 1920x1080 Monitor to a Netbook?

Guys my dad wants to connect his netbook to a monitor.

Netbook is a HP 210 with Atom N450

Wants to know if this supports 1920x1080 resolution and if this will be a good idea.

Has not bought the monitor as yet.

it can be done, but it may become sluggish if you have a lot of graphic intensive programs, blame crappy intel gpu's in netbooks, unless if it's an ion or amd gpu then your laughing.

I highly doubt your netbook is capable of running HD quality movies, it will choke and die. It can probably run DVD quality just fine. And browsing the web is easy.

Its not to watch HD movies.

Its just for browsing the net and watching DVD quality movies really.

I also think his Toshiba DVD player has HDMI so thats an added bonus if its true. Cause the monitor comes with HDMI and he has like a ton of DVD movies.
