Help! Media Centre Remote Not working

So as the title says my remote's not working. I've got a Compro S800f tuner and got a remote (Supposedly microsoft certified) with it. The reciever is not usb but plugs into the card using a small jack and I have the software installed but I'm having no luck at all gettting it to work. I've changed some registry values before to try to fix it with no luck.

Using Windows 7 64bit.

Does anyone have any ideas what I could do?

Thanks

does it have a "green button" ?
oh, yes it does, as its this http://www.comprousa.com/en/product/s800f/s800f.html

you say you installed "software" but what about the "driver"
http://www.comprousa.com/en/download/s800f.html?d=1

are you using Windows Media Center?(in Premium/Ultimate Win7/Vista) did you set up the "Guide" in it to work with your tuner?

launch Media Center(you have either Premium or Ultimate Win7 right?) then go to:
> Tasks > Settings > TV > Set Up a TV Signal

Did you Install there software?

Does the remote work with there software?

It's possible if you installed there software that the driver's for the remote are different and you need to install MCE driver's for the remote-control to work.. (this was the problem i had)

I've installed their software to no avail, it actually shows no response when any buttons are pushed but remote appears to be sending out a signal. What do you mean by media centre drivers? Do you have the same card?

Ir reciever in perfect condition. Like I said before it connects to the tuner, no USB. I'm guessing from what I've read it means it transmits via radio?

Using Win 7 64 Home Prem

Going into Set up signal scans for channels right? I've already spent ages doing that so I don't wanna do it again.

Heres something interesting though: http://www.dabs.com/products/best-va...product+search

The only difference between that and what I have is the transmitter which is USB, Douh!

where is the IR receiver, is it on the card or is it a plug in?

No I don't have the same card but on the CD that came with my card there is MCE specific driver's and driver's for there software..

If I install there software the remote control wont work in MCE but will with there software..

you could also try a different IR receiver that is USB...I switched the ones from different remotes/computers and they worked

I like the looks of that remote, some have too many buttons and bad placement of them

but are you using Windows Media Center? or their software tuning interface app
...as I would uninstall any third-party TV watching app...then just download and install the latest drivers for the turner card and remote...and only use Media Center(the remote will/should work in all aspects/features/menus of Media Center, not just TV channel changing)

Meh, sounds like for money for others. I am using media centre solely. I'm in love with it and using my keyboard managaged to watch tv and record. Its brilliant. Compros software is .

I have a look for the MCE drivers.

The reciever is plugged into the Card at the back of the machine.

Couldn't find the drivers on the cd. I noticed though that the compro software is using HID for the remote and I think the media centre drivers talk to the remote differently.
