This game is current unavailable????

I'm getting an error when trying to start this game through steam.

When I hit play I get a pop up from user account control asking for permission to run steam client service. I grant permission and get a Steam-error pop up saying "this game is currently unavailable. Please try again at another time."

It was working yesterday after downloading, and worked earlier this morning. but has apparently stopped for no reason.

What should my next course of action be?

This is just generic advice for such issues;

Try completely exiting steam, make sure it's closed, then restart again.

Try completely restarting your pc.

Try verifying the game files through your steam library, or try deleting all local content and restarting steam and redownload and reinstall the game again.

Weird, are you still getting this problem right now? This kind of seems like a temporary Steam issue?

It's a steam issue
Try launching the game following that path : G:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\steamapps\common\swords and soldiers

Don't use the launcher !!

Yes I'm still getting this problem a day later.

The machines been rebooted. I'll delete the local content and try reinstalling,

when I go direct to the app I get a different error. IrrKlang.dll is missing.

Hi I have had this problem too. I tried reinstalling but it didn't work

You are DEFINITELY not the only one who is experiencing this... it's a fun game, but it didn't work right off the bat and now this? It's incredibly frustrating

I have this game but I can never get it to launch now. It's stuck at updating and always says that the game in unavailable. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it 3 times now.

Yeah my game is stuck on updating as well, its 100% done but is always suspended and yes I have tried changing my download region it doesn't help it just goes instantly suspended.

This is happening to me, as well, under OS X.

I attempted to verify the files, but it got stuck several times at different levels before finally being stuck for about 8 hours at 99%

So I deleted it and tried reinstalling, but now it's "Suspended" or "Paused" at 0% while trying to redownload.

Yeah Im os x as well so I fear thats where the problem is.

This is an issue in the Steam client, not in the game, so unfortunately not something I can fix. However, in general using "Verify integrity of Steam cache" in Steam fixes lots of random issues. I also get the impression the Steam servers sometimes cannot handle the enormous load of all these people downloadling their new discounted games. Hope it works for you soon!

verifying my game cache brings my update download back about 2 mb only to get stuck again on 99%.

I'm afraid I don't know any other tricks to try, so please ask Steam for support on this one, since this is something that happens entirely outside our game.
