Gothic 4 wont start what should i do?

When I try to start Gothic 4 i get an error saying "This game is currently unevalible try again later." It has been saying that since i downloaded it yesterday from steam. i tried reinstalling it and it still wont work what should i do.

When I try to start the game up all I get is the send error report bull♥♥♥♥. Why did I just spend money on a game that does not work?

I too cannot run Gothic 4. It does not launch and simply opens a windows 7 error box. Would someone from Steam support please help with this?

I too have the same problem. It most likely is a symptom of the DRM infesting this game. I contacted support asking for my money back and all they gave me was this cookie cutter bull sh**:

You may also need to manually run secondary installers required by this game.

Exit Steam entirely.

Browse to the game's installation folder (Usually C:\Program files\Steam\Steamapps\common\arcania gothic iv\)

Run the following installers:

...\Steamapps\common\arcania gothic iv\redist\vcredist.msi

...\Steamapps\common\arcania gothic iv\redist\DirectX\DXSETUP.exe

...\Steamapps\common\arcania gothic iv\redist\PhysX\PhysX_9.10.0513_SystemSoftware.exe


Reboot your computer and test the issue.

That "cookie cutter bull sh**" worked for me. Have you tried following their advice?

This was grand, actually worked for myself - exe instant crash

WIN 7 / 64bit fresh install of the game

rebooted followed steps and it was fine

Follow the steps. the build-bot appears to not spawn the physX installation, the build-bot needs to be worked on guys! this is the second game lately with a poor build script, safer is better, esp after waiting 3 hours for a download.

Just to re-iterate: Run all 3 installers in sequence as per the support note. reboot.
