Problems/bug/errors HELP (black screen of nothingness)

Ok so I launched droplitz and ummm my screen sent black forever and it never responded and whne i tried alt tab, atrl,ctr alt delete, they didnt respond either i had to hold the power button to shut down. I'm about to give it a second go once steam cranks up. Any clue what might be causing this?

I should have looked at the other topics first. I figured there was a launch option to adjust the video.

Put this in the launch options and the game will run in a window:
fullscreen=0 windowed=1 xres=1280 yres=720

Ok so second try same thing,
Third try i input -novideo command in launch options cause thats what i had to do with chime..... well that made for a weird go of it. same result thou black screen restart computer

not really looking to play windowed if i wanna play ♥♥♥♥ty windowed games ill play them for free. i think the problem is the monitor i have 22 wide screen. and she doesnt like it. anyways thanks ill keep it in mind so i can atleast try the game.

you can try setting the resolution without setting the game to windowed mode. that has worked for some.

Also, set run as administrator and turn off desktop composition seems to have helped some.

If you are running on an ATI graphics card you may need to reset your 3D settings in ccc to default.

from what i ear this game is having moreproblems thn the middle east i would believe its my Duel core or ati card causing the trouble.

no clear solution in site guess im out he treasure hunt.

Hi luckbox - we're continuing to investigate this here but so far all of our tests are showing the game running correctly (no black screen hangs, runs full screen and windowed mode fine on xp, vista, windows 7, 32 bit and 64bit versions)

Would it be possible to get a copy of your cascade.exe file for us to verify it against the version we have here? It's possible this might be a simple problem with the version that steam is providing when you download it...

In fact, the request goes to anyone that is currently having problems with the game - we'd love to test a few versions of the executable to confirm that the version you have is the correct one with all of the latest patches or if there is a problem with steam not supplying the correct version - thanks!
