Possible to burn games to cd's?
Yeah, so I got a few games on steam. What I was wondering is if its possible to burn games onto a CD so later I can just reinstall them onto another computer and play them like you could with old classic video games. I mean the whole online things nice, but the fact that I'm probably going to lose internet soon, and that my computer has a horrible history of incidents which make me have to wipe the memory make me paranoid of losing the single player games I bought on here.

You can use the Steam backup feature to create backup installers for your games and partition them to the correct size for CDs or DVDs. You can then use these installers to install the games offline. You will still need Steam installed and updated to play the games however. See this Support article for more information.

No, you will only need it to connect to the internet ONCE, then you can play the games in offline mode forever.

Yeah, but theres also the possibility of steam going out of business. Although by then someone will probably develop a hack that lets you play games without steam, or all the games will be ported to roms... or something.

The amount of DVDs you would need to back up a sizable account is staggering (if you're planning on backing up all of your games, that is). You are better off buying a HD and backing your games up that way. Cheaper, faster, and much easier.

Yeah, but most games are multiplayer so there'd be no point to back them up anyways considering if steam was failing or something, you wouldn't be able to play them anyways.
