lately, Ive been experiencing some sound issues with gmod and some other source games ( half life 2, half life 2 episode 1 and 2 , half life Lost coast, half life deathmatch and gmod all have this following problem ) BUT not portal or team fortress 2, well the problem is that there is limited sound or no sound in Gmods case, where i cant hear anything in the game , no footsteps , no sound plays when im firing weapons etc , but when my mouse hovers over the menu options it makes the usual clicking sound , now in half life 2, half life 2 E1, half life 2 E2, half life 2 Lost coast, Half life 2 death match , i can hear the weapons firing but it sounds like it is only playing half the sound, eg. , i cannot hear the zombies in Ravenholm ( you know, their moaning ) yet Portal and Team fortress 2 are fine ,
My Specs Are.. Intel Core i7 920 2.66 GHz ASUS P6T-SE Motherboard Nvidia GTS 250 Calibre 2 TB HDD 6 GB 1333 MHz RAM onboard realtek sound card onboard realtek Sound controller Any help would be appreciated , thanks. |

Have you updated the drivers for your sound card? Verify the games that have the issues' files, and restart steam?

Also make sure that you've got your options for sound set up correctly, if downloading/installing drivers doesn't help. Sometimes, switching modes in options helps, but it's a lot of switch, save, exit, restart, to make it all work.
