What is your graphics card and operating system version? Did you try to update drivers and reboot?

i have a ati radeon x1550 series
windows vista
and no i have not updated my driver

Sorry, it is significantly below min. system requirements. This card cannot draw custom graphics that The Polynomial uses.
It might work with new drivers, but it will not look like screenshots (for that you need Radeon HD 2000 / GeForce 8 series hardware or better). The min. system requirements really are the min. system that can run it correctly.
