sign/post here - if you think securom should be removed from Crysis games
agree if you think securom should be removed from Crysis games
I am writing a complaint to EA about the current situation of Securom on the Crysis games and would like your support by agreeing that it should be removed from the steam version. - At the current moment both games have a activation limit of 5 machines. - According to sources only Crysis Warhead can be revoked, Crysis cannot be revoked - Almost all other EA games on Steam have had there Securom removed exmaples: BFBC2 & Spore I have sent a email to Crytek, I encourage you to do the same - you can contact them on: http://crytek.com/contact UPDATE Crytek decided to post here after 3rd email I sent them, this is what they had to say: Quote:

I would buy both games if Securom is removed. It´s arrogant to expect customers to have to let Securom into ones computer and deal with limited activations, for a three year old game that is sold for almost nothing - on Steam. Well, either arrogance or Crytek/EA are just being lazy. Securom has no role to play on Steam, and it definitely has no role to play in a game this old. When so many other developers are prepared to walk a thousand miles for their customers today, why should I give EA/Crytek my money and attention if they don´t care more than this? It´s 2010 now, time to wake up. The era of Securom are behind us now. Encourage people to buy, instead of mistrusting everyone. Last edited by Yachmenev: 12-28-2010 at 01:28 PM. |

Not only is it completely unnecessary with Steams own DRM, it has a track record of causing problems (some of which I have experienced first hand) while offering absolutely no benefit to the customer. The pirates don't deal with that crap, why should we? |

I would love for it to be removed. Attacking the legitimate customers not the pirates never is wrong.

Just bought the Complete pack in the sale.
Wouldn't have if I'd known about the securom/installation limit. (my bad) When I buy something, even if delivered by digital means, I like to own it. As already mentioned, the inclusion of securom with a title purchased via Steam seems redundant. Get rid. /signed |

It should be removed. Especially when it's tied to your steam account. |

just ♥♥♥♥ing remove it already... There is tons of cracks out already, so keeping the DRM in won't help at all.
