World background

Just started the game but there has been much background yet. Is there any information in the manual that talks about the world or sets the stage? If so does anyone know where a pdf of the manual can be found?

Yeah there are a couple of pages with a quick run down of the history from the previous games. I haven't played the previous games but this one is still fun.

The manual is in the Divinity ii folder where all Steam games are kept.
