Non-Functional

The game does not work.

Not in a typical, fails to start or anything of the sort. Starts fine, loads fine, goes to the Campaign or Survival Mode just fine but -

No ion particles appear. Not a one. I follow the prompt to gather ions and charge the weapon and get...nothing.

I removed local files and re-downloaded. I checked the cache, rebooted, etc.

No dice.

Any ideas?

What graphics adapter do you have?

Did you update your driver yet?

NVIDIA GeForce 7100
On 3.12 Gs of Ram, 2.4 Dual Core

Drivers are up to date.

Well that's your problem right there most likely. The 7100 was an integrated graphics solution from 2006 (!) that wasn't well received as a gaming solution. I had a look on Google, and sure enough it was considered a budget / low rent gaming solution in 2006. It doesn't support a lot of Direct X features apparently, so when trying to run a game 5 years later it's probably not surprising that it's not working properly. Even the cheapest budget graphics card you could pick up from the store today would outperform the 7100, and should play Ion Assault just fine.

Like krayzkrok already explained, Ion Assault doesn't support your graphics card because of its age and quality. You'll need at least a Geforce7800 GS to play the game.

Nah, you will always own the game.

Now when you can afford a 45-60$ graphics card, you'll be able to enjoy the awesome ion assault.
