support for non-xbox360 controllers?
So I've read all the threads relating to controller support, and I understand that support is added for x360 controllers and x-input compatible controllers. I use Logitech dual action controllers and they are apparently not recognized by the game. Can anyone confirm that these controllers do not work natively with this game, or am I doing something wrong? Is anyone using these pads with this game successfully?

We tested Ion Assault with an actual Logitech Twin Stick Gamepad and it worked fine. Can you post the exact type of your Gamepad?

Gladly, and thanks for the reply. I'm using "Logitech dual action" USB pads with model # G-UF13A on the back. Let me know if I can provide any other info.

I found this post in the Logitech Support Forum:
Forum It seems that older Gamepads from Logitech don't support XInput because of missing buttons/features which are required to fulfill the XInput standard. There are workarounds through user created software packages like http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/, but I can't assure that this software works properly. If you plan to purchase a new controller, I would strongly recommend to buy the wired XBox360 Controller for Windows. Last edited by COREPLAY: 01-11-2011 at 02:26 AM. |

I got my Logitech Dual Action working by downloading the XBox 360 Controller Emulator v3.0 at http://www.tocaedit.com/IB/index.php...ads&showfile=4
After extraction, follow the readme. It states to put a copy of xinput1_3.dll, xbox360cemu.ini file to the game exe directory. This can be found C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\ion assault (This is on my Win7 system) With the new files, my dual action controller works fine. |
