Get ready for a million PC gamers hearts to shatter in disappointment.

Seriously 2011? That's DICE/EA for you.

Why?

The battlefield franchise is traditionally multiplayer only. There's no single player campaign taking loads of time to perfect. Given that and that we have absolutely no idea how long this has actually been in the works, there's no reason a Q4 2011 release wont work perfectly fine.

D3 as in Diablo 3? As in Blizzard? Haha. Funny stuff.

They've been working on Battlefield 3 far longer than it's been announced for. I'd be surprised if it actually did come out this year though but it could happen.

Don't care if it has planes, don't care if it makes it out by Q4 (well, the Q4 bit is a bit more a concern)... As long as DICE doesn't it up by forcing a minimum resolution and/or anti-aliasing, like they did with BFBC2, I'll be happy.

And, yes, my computer met the minimum requirements. However, apparently the minimum requirements don't guarantee playability... I f%^&ing HATE that I paid for BFBC2 and I can't get more than 20 fps....Ridiculous....

Hey Game Developers, why don't you take a note from the rest of us developers out there? When I state minimum requirements for a piece of software that I develop for a client, if those requirements are met, the software is USEABLE, not workable.

Workable = Well, it runs...doesn't necessarily run well, but it does run.

Useable = The software runs as it was intended to, at a speed that is acceptable for the user, and operates efficiently.

I understand everybody wants to make their games amazing looking, but jesus h. friggin' christ, it's a multiplayer shooter! The idea is to strike a BALANCE! I bought this pc in september, it's a dualcore 64bit 3Ghz, with an HD Radeon 4200 (2GB VRAM), 4GB RAM, and a solid soundcard. COD MW2 runs beautifully...

C'mon DICE, you guys made a great system back in 2005 with Battlefield 2. Not only was the original game great, but there are still mods out there that make it a pleasure to continue playing it.... BFBC2 is nice and all, but it's so choppy, I can't play the damned thing!

Agreed...the only thing single player has been good for in the BF series is getting use to the game once you first get it before you go online. But all you really have to do to get use to the surroundings before hoping online is to do a multiplayer and set it to local server so you can hop on by yourself and go for a sunday drive.
