How active is the multiplayer?

I'm considering getting this game on the sale.

How active is the online multiplayer? Does it have a good server browser? Does it support dedicated servers?

If you are considering this game, consider it as two really good single player campaigns, you might as well not even consider that the multiplayer exists because not only is it dead, but it plays nothing like the single player and it sucks.

Every so often, I'll check up on it and there are 0 servers running. I'd wager the xbox/ps3 version has a more active multiplayer, but not by much. The other posters are correct in that this is much more geared toward the single player experience.

i got this for $5 off d2d a year ago, installing it now so there will be someone to mp with

asking if a game is dead is somewhat of a 'faulty' question, as the sale is supposed to boost the players, but if everyone wanting mp bases their decision on the status before the sale... well it will continue to be dead
