Question Will the multiplayer be popular on PC?

Thinking about purchasing this game for PC....but my main concern is that this game's multiplayer which depends on large fights (32 player servers) and that it won't be big on PC with maybe only a few, full, and active servers at the start and slowly die off (ie: Crysis)

Do you guys think this game's MP will be a hit on PC? It sounds really cool

All I know is I will be there along with some friends. The reviews will decide if this game will survive. Quite a few people are on the fence as it is, if Homefront can prove to be fun and doesn't have any glaring issues it should survive longer than Frontlines.

No one can say if it will be huge or not. With the way pre-orders are going it doesn't look great. Hardcore PC users have been turned off by Frontlines (the predecessor of Homefront) and by how the developers are watering down the game so that its easy for early adopters to get into the game. The bad is that it will never develop past that point if the bar is set so low.

Expect the game to have a mostly casual gamer crowd. Not a hardcore following. If I'm wrong, the drinks are on the house.

I'll most likely be with everyone else in Battlefield 3. Till then I got a bunch of games from steam over the holidays to enjoy

What the bleep did you just say?
Frontlines was one of the best Battlefield copycats from 2008(Bad Company 1 was a flop on the consoles)
and it did it with the unreal engine

The bland comment of saying they are watering down the game is false...they are making game more skill based than time based
The bad is?

It's going to have a hardcore following with Digital Extremes co-developing

Battlefield 3 is way beyond Unreal Engine 3-3.5...but luckly there will be Unreal Engine 4.0 coming out, around that time so maybe Homefront 2 will use it ;D

So, far this year the big two Unreal games with really good PC Devs are

Homefront
Red Orchestra

That's exactly the impression that I got from them when watching this video.

The whole idea about vehicles in home front is you should get in and start having fun right away. This is not the kind of game where you need to spend two hours learning to fly a helicopter.

By now everyone should have an idea of how a FPS shooter works. Both infantry and vehicle combat. Rather than taking the easy out and lowering everyone else to your pathetic skill level how about practicing and not giving up so easy. For Frackin sake that is how the rest of us got where we are. Now you come in and smash the easy button repeatedly. No thanks ex-lax.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. No die hard follower that plays Unreal will migrate towards Homefront. I know a group of serious Unreal players and they are among the most suborn gamers ever. They enjoy their Unreal and not a whole lot more. Unreal is a real mans game. They won't give into Homefront. Especially when the developers are watering down the game for n00bs. These guys live for trick jumping and instagib frags.

I don't own a console...and am an avid PC Gamer with over 1256 hours on NWN 1 and NWN 2

http://www.xfire.com/profile/seronx/
^It doesn't show those hours but I rarely use xfire ;P

If you want to cuss just ing do so...

I am a hardcore unreal(engine) fan AND I AM going to buy Homefront

If I was a console player I wouldn't have spent...more than $1000 to buy my current PC back in December 2008, then upgrade it in 2010...near my birthday ofcourse...and that costed like $900 plus the accidental drop of the computer thus killing off my hard drive..thus needing more space meaning perfect time to upgrade to 2TB

I am a impulse buy the only real games I regret impulse buying is Champions Online and Guild Wars....oh mai MMORPGs suck

I missed out on Frontlines beacuase I was impulse buying expensive crappy mmorpgs ;P or playing F2P mmorpgs wondering what went wrong with the P2P/B2P games

Oh you better check out Battlefield 3 they are making firing a weapon EVEN MORE CASUAL!!! With a click of a mouse button OH MAI!!!!

You seem to be an xbox 360 type of a guy because I HAVE heard this type of bland false arguments, that have no SOUL!!

http://www.liveatbestbuy.com/homefront
for argument purposes finally a more recent interview

Best Buy, in partnership with THQ, KAOS Studios, and Major League Gaming bring you the LIVE Interview with Homefront Community Manager Jeremy Greiner on Tuesday January 25th at 3:00 EST.

Seems MLG is also supporting Homefront hmmm

Out of that list only http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Age...8video_game%29
would be good..but since I had always a bad rhythm with MMOs don't take my advice without salt!

Dungeon Defenders too but only because its going to be $10

Duke Nukem Forever oohh totally forgot that was coming out xD more like Duke Nukem Forgotten

I am alive is coming out as well but Ubisoft YUCK!
(I am not anti-DRM just anti-Chinese/Canada)

Just to addon on the tid bit way above the game I mostly played in 2008 was Call of Duty: World at War and Counter Strike: Source Zombie Mod

Slow down on the ritalin kid.

An impulse buying MMORPG addict who enjoys COD and CSS coming to the rescue of Homefront .... Greeeeeat.

Impressive Xfire stats btw. You would think being such a hardcore Unreal fan that you would have at least logged < 1 hour of play time.

Great material and even better argument. You Homefront fans are true winners!

I would prefer to get this on the PC but the PC version being outsourced and the apparent dislike of it here makes me think I might be better off with the PS3 version...which sucks cause I'm not a fan of FPS on a console at all.

PS3 version will have no support(They are not getting paid to do the PS3 version)

Only the
PC version and Xbox 360 version will get support

The PC version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvERnxrZfUo a couple of questions answered, for the PC version

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvERnxrZfUo&t=5m15s <-- specifically this time

That's not what I heard at all. I heard Kaos was doing 360/PS3 version and the PC was being done by a different company.

And how would they "not get paid" to do the PS3 version?
