Exclamation Official Magicka Status Report (Jan 26th)

Thanks for playing the game!

Here's the official status of Magicka as of now (26th of Jan).

Short story:

Right now we've got so many players posting on the steam forums we're having a hard time keeping up answering posts. But we're reading all of them and are adding stuff to our "to-do"-list. This includes fixes and improvements

Here's the changelog

Patch will be delivered to Steam very soon and it's up as soon as Steam pushes the button). We'll monitor your response closely and keep patching the game as often as possible.

Please let us know if the patch helped!

Two features that are not on the list but that I would like to see eventually:
  • Being able to kick players, especially in the lobby but preferably also from in-game.
  • Being able to join a game in progress - if not through the server browser then at least through Steam friends.

Thanks for the work you are putting in, I hope this patch irons out the most severe bugs.

You should allow customization of mouse buttons as well.
On my Logitech MX1000 mouse the middle button is the wheel (as with most mice today), which is very uncomfortable. I can change the configuration from SetPoint, but it is not convenient, since I use all other buttons for something else, more important than game.

I will not buy until this is resolved. Aside from that, the game is on my wish list.

So far so good Ladies and Gents. I am impressed with your quick action and responsiveness . Don't pull your hair out makng us happy though, The game is a day old. I would rather you take your time and get things done then rush but all is good. I have just had some bad experiences with rush'd content but this game seems above thoes by far. GJ & GL

At some point down the road adding a configuration for 5 mouse buttons or more would be cool. My pinky is lazy on my left hand and doesn't want to press Shift & or CTRL . oh well

Also for thoes who are replying about stuff not being in this patch. There will be more patches soon, so I would recomend saying, " hey this would be cool to have" or " this seems to be an issue". They will get to as much as they can and as quick as they can. we need to be patient and let them work their, well... Magicka !

You mean this one?
  • Added keyboard binding for cast self (default middle mouse button)

Also, thanks to the devs for the quick turnaround in some of the major issues. Great job. Hope to enjoy the game tonight with some friends.

Great work, Arrowhead + Paradox!

I haven't bought the game yet, though I plan to. However, I'd really like to have more graphics adaptation options (turning off shadows and antialiasing, for instance) to make it work on my laptop. I don't have an integrated graphics card, but a GeForce 9200M GS, which I'll admit is not ideal but I'd still love to get a slight improvement in framerate in any way I can.

Keep up the good work guys, I can understand why you released the game at the beginning of the week!

Nvidia Control Panel is your friend.
You can specify the graphical options you'd like for specific applications.
(Workaround) - Sorry, I'm technical support and we tend to just use workarounds, never actually fix things. =]

Hello...

I have an issue where I crash whenever I get Fafnir down to about 75 % of his starting health. What gives? Is this a known issue?

I tried turning everything down, but I couldn't see any noticeable difference... I'll do more extensive testing (measuring framerate for different settings) in a few days when I've more time, but for the moment it didn't seem to help much, so I assumed it just didn't work.
