Option: don't stop downloading while playing
Whenever I download a steam game I have to do the following:
My connection is nothing special for where I live and it has 16 Mb, that is a theoretically max of 1.6 MB per seconds and steam give sme normally between 0.7 and 1.5 MB per second. So I can really play ANY game, singleplayer or multiplayer during the download. Could we please get an options like: continue downloads during gameplay. Or give the option via the context menu of the downloaded item. Not just pause and restart and resume or whatever we have there but a "ignore gameplay" or something like that ? -------------------- edit ----------------- Even better: Quote:

I don't care if there are a lot of similar threads already. I want this feature. Alt-tabbing out of a game and trying to start the download never worked for me. |

Most every time I do this, I end up redownloading most of what I just downloaded because the cache is bad.
I get the feeling there's a reason why the download stops, and not just because it might interfere with multiplayer. Would be nice though. |

Yes, please!
I mean, what's the point in stoping downloads in a solo game for instance? When I play the Witcher I have to alt tab, but some games just don't work well with alt tab. In the witcher, for instance, if you do that while on the menu, you'll have to close the game and relaunch it... I'd like an in game option to manage downloads, also. |

I seldom have cache problems. Only if I try fancy things like downloading a game and its extension at the same time. |

We need a option in Settings → Downloads + Cloud:
□ Continue downloading even when in-game |
